My Experience

Multidisciplinary with a focus on the user.

Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to work on a range of projects spanning multiple disciplines. But underlying each project is the same ethos: the user experience drives everything. People’s first impression when they see a new object, their feeling when they use a product, their sense of pride when they share their purchase with a friend. This is how design brings people value. Product design should not be purely driven by aesthetics or manufacturing efficiency—instead, each underlying discipline should be optimized to create a product that generates a positive user experience. That’s why I’ve spent my career immersing myself in both technical and creative design disciplines.

Over the years I’ve helped clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. During my time at D2M and Q Design Studio, I led the design and mechanical engineering phases that brought many Silicon Valley ideas to life. While living in Manhattan I began collaborating with the talented industrial designers at Impel Studio. Together we developed a super efficient workflow to integrate industrial design, engineering, and manufacturing. Each discipline works together to create the best possible product experience.

I’m currently partnering with industrial design studios across the country to help them streamline their own DFM workflow like I did for Impel. I’m passionate about integrating the technical with the creative side of product design and want to see the process more widely adopted within the industry.
